Our discomfort and lack of understanding about our sexuality inadvertently colors our capacity to connect even in something as benign as a hug. I listened with both shock and grief as my 13-year-old daughter shared how she was warned at school with a PDA for hugging her boyfriend. “You can’t hug for more than 2 seconds,” she said. Much of our mistrust of physical affection is learned and the rigid personal boundary space we establish in response often only serves to later prevent our earnest desires to connect.</p>
<p>As in the mind, so in the body as recent medical research at University of North Carolina found that both blood pressure and levels of Cortisol, the hormone produced when we’re under stress, were significantly lowered (particularly in women) when subjects hugged their partners for at least twenty seconds. Another study that took place in 2000 showed that hugging babies while they were given blood tests made them cry less and kept their heart rates steadier. Other studies suggest a strong link between increased hugs and lower risk of heart disease.</p>
<p>In addition to the clear health benefits, hugging also provides a window into the health of your relationship and offers an easy way to improve it. Hugging Until Relaxed is a therapeutic technique that encourages partners to hold each other while in a standing hug. Ultimately, both partners find stability and comfort in the embrace by achieving equilibrium of balance and closeness while holding each other. This technique, introduced by David Schnarch in <em>Passionate Marriage</em>, allows both partners to open up to a deeply intimate space where both are held and fully relaxed. This technique generally translates into better overall communication and more passionate intimacy. Opening up to being held is a powerful metaphor. <p>However, that does not mean that a lap or two around the old high school track will offset a daily dose of junk food. Exercise alone is not very efficient, experts say. They contend that if you just exercise and do not change your diet, you may be able to prevent weight gain or even lose a few pounds for a while.</p>
<p>Nevertheless, it is not something that you are likely to sustain unless exercise is part of an overall program. The more regularly you exercise, the easier it is to maintain your weight. Here is what to do every day to make sure that you get the exercise you need.</p>
<p>1. Get quality Zzzs:</p>
<p>Make sure that you get adequate sleep. Good sleep habits are conducive to exercise, experts point out. If you feel worn out during the day, you are less likely to get much physical activity during the day.</p>
<p>In addition, there is evidence that people who are tired tend to eat more, using food as a substance for the rest they need.</p>
<p>2. Walk the walk:</p>
<p>It is probably the easiest exercise program of all. In fact, it may be all you ever have to do, according to some professional advices of some health experts.</p>
<p>Gradually build up to at least 30 minutes of brisk walking five times a week. Brisk walks themselves have health and psychological benefits that are well worth the while.</p>
<p>3. Walk the treadmill:</p>
<p>When the weather is bad, you might not feel like going outdoors. But if you have a treadmill in the television room, you can catch up on your favorite shows while you are doing your daily good turn for your weight-maintenance plan.</p>
<p>Most of us watch television anyway, and indoor exercise equipment enables anyone to turn a sedentary activity into a healthy walk.</p>
<p>4. Seize the time:</p>
<p>Excuses aside, lack of time is certainly a limiting factor in most lifestyles. That is why health experts suggest a basic guideline for incorporating exercise into your schedule.</p>
<p>Get as much exercise as you can that feels good without letting it interfere with your work or family life. If you need to, remind yourself that you are preventing many health problems when you prevent weight gain; and keeping your health is a gift to your family as well as yourself.</p>

If you  don&#8217;t  want varicose veins to mar the beauty of your legs  and  compromise your  health, uncross your legs every time you realise you  have one knee on top of the  other. The best way to sit is to simply  place both legs together on the  floor, balancing your weight equally.  If you feel like changing position, instead of crossing your legs,  simply move both  legs together to one side. As an alternative, you  could also consider  crossing your legs loosely at the ankles. This is  a  classically elegant  way to sit, and is far better for your legs and   your health than  sitting with your legs  crossed at your knees.<br />

Imagine going through the  annoyance of brushing your teeth twice a  day  only to find out that you&#8217;re damaging your enamel every time you clean  your  teeth. Also, use a brush with soft bristles unless your dentist  has advised  otherwise.</p>

If you are constantly tempted to wear your  heels, take a good look at your flats. Is there something about them you  dislike? Invest  in a new pair of beautiful flats or shoes with a low  heel. Buy something you  love, that you will enjoy wearing. If possible,  get a matching bag. You will  then enjoy your flats as  much as you do  your heels.</p>

If you already have an old bed with  springs, you don&#8217;t need to invest in a new one &#8211; simply get a thick  wooden plank put over the springs, and place the mattress on the plank.   Similarly, if your mattress is  old and lumpy, throw it out and get a  new one. Your  neck and your back will thank you. The same rule applies  to sofas. If  you will be spending  hours on a sofa, get a firm yet  comfortable one. Sofas you  completely sink into are not the best idea.</p>

Don&#8217;t wait for a heart attack to strike  before you decide to opt for a lifestyle  change. Make the change now.  You don&#8217;t need to train for the marathon to be in  top shape. Half an  hour of brisk walking three to four times a week will make a  world of  difference to your health. You could then increase this to forty   minutes, four times a week &#8211; and you&#8217;re all set. If you haven&#8217;t   exercised for a week, you&#8217;re making a mistake.</p>

<p>Regular use of the above process relieves loss of breath and strengthens the heartbeat. In America and Canada, various nursing homes have treated patients successfully and have found that as age the arteries and veins lose their flexibility and get clogged; honey and cinnamon revitalizes the arteries and veins.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">INSECT BITES</span>:</strong></p>
<p>Take one part honey to two parts of lukewarm water and add a small teaspoon of cinnamon powder, make a paste and massage it on the itching part of the body slowly. It is noticed that the pain recedes within a minute or two.</p>

reduce the level of cholesterol in the blood by 10% within 2 hours. As mentioned for arthritic patients, if taken 3 times a day, any Chronic cholesterol is cured. As per information received in the said journal, pure honey taken with food daily relieves complaints of cholesterol.</p>

<p>1. Use 1 part cinnamon to 2 parts raw honey. 1/2 tsp cinnamon to     1 tsp honey is recommended but can use more or less as long     as in the ratio of 1 to 2. &#8212; so 1 tsp cinnamon to 2 tsp raw honey     is ok too as an example.</p>
<p>2. Boil 1 cup&#8230;that is 8 oz of water.</p>
<p>3. Pour water over cinnamon and cover and let it steep for 1/2 hour..(30 minutes)</p>
<p>4. Add honey now that it has cooled. Never add honey when it is hot    as the heat will destroy the enzymes and other nutrients in the raw    honey.</p>
<p>5. Drink 1/2 of this directly before going to bed. The other 1/2 should     be covered and refrigerated.</p>
<p>6. In the morning drink the other half that you refirgerated&#8230;but do not    re-heat it&#8230;drink it cold or at room temp only.</p>
<p>Do not add anything else to this recipe. No lemon, no lime, no vinegar. It is not necessary to drink it more time in a day&#8230;it is only effective on an empty stomach and primarily at night.</p>
<p>This works for most people. Inches are lost before any measurement on the scales. This program will cause significant inches lost&#8230;but you will reach a plateau and may not lose anymore. This is because the cinnamon and honey cause a cleansing effect in the digestive tract and cleans out parasites and other fungus and bacteria that slow down the digestion&#8230;causing a toxic build up. (Lowers pH)  Once this is all cleaned out then you will most likely have the weight loss slow down.</p>
<p>Other side effects from a cleansing can occur because of toxins being released&#8230;if this occurs, cut back on how much you use or take a break.</p>

If you can’t live in a smog-free environment, at least avoid smoke-filled rooms, high traffic areas, breathing in highway fumes and exercising near busy thoroughfares. Exercise indoors in air conditioning when air quality is good. It’s a good pollution and dirt from the street deterrent.</p>
